Safe and Effective Skin Care During and After Radiotherapy

Radiaderm provides soothing relief and protection while improving comfort throughout radiation treatment.

Radiaderm R1TM & R2 TM Skin Care System is a two-step system for use during and after radiotherapy. R1 is a cooling gel and R2 is a soothing lotion.

The R1 & R2 System helps to provide skin care from Day One of radiation treatment before any skin changes are visible.

R1 Cooling Gel is the first step of the full R1 & R2 System. R1 cools, hydrates and stabilizes skin temperature.

R2 Soothing Lotion is the second step of the system. R2 nourishes and moisturizes skin, which helps to promote elasticity. R2 also contains UVA and UVB stabilizers that help maintain the skin’s natural barrier to free radicals caused by UV exposure.

How Patients Can Get Relief by Properly Using the Radiaderm R1 & R2 System Pack

R1 Cooling Gel is step one of the skin care system that cools, hydrates and soothes skin during radiation treatment.

  • Patients can begin using R1 Cooling Gel on Day One after radiation therapy. It provides intense hydration and cooling relief for skin discomfort and irritation that may occur.

  • Apply a generous layer to the affected area each day following radiotherapy. A heaping teaspoonful (6g) should cover an area of 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm).

  • The gel is most effective when applied in a thick layer and allowed to remain in contact with the skin for a minimum of 20 minutes. Do not rub into the skin. Any residue may be gently removed.

  • Use R1 in combination with R2 Soothing Lotion. Not intended for use as a standalone product.

Patients may experience a mild stinging sensation for a short time after application.

R2 Soothing Lotion is step two of the system that soothes, moisturizes and promotes elasticity of skin.

  • After using R1 Cooling Gel for a minimum of 20 minutes, wipe off any residue that has not been absorbed. Immediately apply R2 Soothing Lotion sparingly and evenly by gently rubbing into the skin.

  • A pea-sized amount (1g) should cover an area of 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm).

  • Apply R2 a minimum of three times a day and also at nighttime to continue to provide moisturizing and skin-protecting benefits.

  • Reapply after towel drying, swimming or sweating.

  • Continue to apply R2 gently to the skin for at least two weeks following the last application of R1 Cooling Gel. Suitable to be used as a standalone product.
